Searching for the perfect base for a weekend of wine tasting in Mexico’s beautiful wine country? Look no further than Casa Mayoral, the best-value bed and breakfast in Valle de Guadalupe!
Visiting Valle de Guadalupe is such a fun and unforgettable experience, whether you’re hanging out with friends, taking a memorable family trip, or sneaking away for a romantic weekend. Valle de Guadalupe is a one-size-fits-all!
With many awarded restaurants, famous casual eateries, and plenty of local wineries to hop to and from, all spread out throughout the extensive valley, knowing where to base yourself for a relaxing weekend in Mexican wine country is crucial.
Having grown up a few towns away from Mexican wine country, I knew this when planning to take my German boyfriend to beautiful Valle de Guadalupe for the first time.
I was looking for something cozy and rustic, that felt luxurious but also wouldn’t break the bank.
And after going into full research mode for the best Valle de Guadalupe bed and breakfasts, I landed on Casa Mayoral.
And it was perfect!
Casa Mayoral: The Best Value Valle De Guadalupe Bed And Breakfast
What is Casa Mayoral?
Casa Mayoral is a pet-friendly bed and breakfast in Valle de Guadalupe that consists of a group of rustic, but chic, cabins surrounded by golden hills in the heart of Mexico’s wine country.
Back when we stayed in 2017 they only had 4 standard cabins, perfect for a romantic getaway.
Since then, it seems like they have expanded to a few more, and even added bigger cabins to accommodate bigger groups of people, and for longer stays, perfect for families or groups of friends.
Where is Casa Mayoral?
Casa Mayoral Bed and Breakfast is located off the main road in Valle de Guadalupe, “La Ruta del Vino”, the easiest way to reach it—as it is with most places in Valle de Guadalupe—is by car.
Public transportation around Valle de Guadalupe is close to non-existent, so having your own car in Mexican wine country is a must.
Due to Casa Mayoral’s location in the heart of the valley, you can very easily reach—as easy as it gets in Valle—all the main spots in Valle de Guadalupe, from the best wineries to popular restaurants.
The rooms at Casa Mayoral Bed and Breakfast
We stayed at a standard cabin at Casa Mayoral, which was absolutely perfect for a relaxing and romantic weekend getaway,!
The room is spacious with a stunning view over the vineyards and hills by day, and clear starry skies at night.
Since the cabins are up a dirt road into the hills, after sunset, we could also hear the coyotes howling right outside our balcony—which I loved!!
You truly feel like you are disconnecting from the real world and are diving into a rural getaway.
The cabin is the perfect definition of rustic chic; with its cozy mix of wood elements and brick walls, creating an inviting and relaxing space.
Casa Mayoral Amenities
While Casa Mayoral Bed and Breakfast offers various eye-catching amenities, one of the highlights of our stay was definitely their breakfast.
With many “Bed and Breakfast” nowadays just handing you some type of sad-looking pre-packaged pastry I was shocked to see the quality of the breakfast at Casa Mayoral.
We had a typical Mexican breakfast with delicious red chilaquiles, fried eggs, and beans, accompanied by a good cup of coffee, out on a beautiful patio under the shade of the vines climbing the kiosk’s wood structure. A solid 10/10!
Other amenities at Casa Mayoral:
- Pet-friendly (No extra charge)
- Free Parking
- Airport Shuttle
- WiFi
- All cabins have a terrace
- Wine bottles for purchase
- Incredible service!
- Bonus tip: On your arrival, you can purchase a bottle of local wine at the check-in desk or you can bring your bottle from your favorite wine tour of the day. The room comes with wine glasses and a wine opener. It is still wine country after all!
Price per night at Casa Mayoral
The standard suite at Casa Mayoral costs around 120 USD per night, and I believe during the low season I found it for 90 USD (score!).
TIP: If you have flexibility, and are planning to visit during the low season, you can sometimes get really good discounts when booking hotels only a couple of days before your stay. I booked around 48 hrs before visiting, and my stay at Casa Mayoral was 25% off the original price.
My experience at Casa Mayoral Bed and Breakfast
I honestly loved our stay at Casa Mayoral! With Valle de Guadalupe prices increasing by the day, Casa Mayoral truly is one of the best-value Valle de Guadalupe bed and breakfasts, without sacrificing anything at all.
The place has a great location, the cabins are cozy with a touch of luxury provided by the cabins’ private terrace overlooking the valley, and the breakfast is outstanding!
The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, even though we arrived a bit later than expected after taking the wrong turn somewhere on the road, he patiently gave us directions over the phone and waited for us to arrive safely.
Even though my original stay was many years ago, I was visiting Valle de Guadalupe recently (September 2024) and I was ready to book a cabin at Casa Mayoral, but they were sadly sold out—as they should.
However, I was happy to see they have kept their prices AND impeccable reviews!
So you know this review still holds true!
For someone who grew up so close to this area of Mexico, I could not believe it took me so many years, and a foreign boyfriend, to finally make my way down to Valle de Guadalupe.
So don’t make the same mistake and plan your trip to Valle sooner than later. Now that you know the best bed and breakfast in Valle de Guadalupe you have no excuses!
Hope you find this review of the cozy Casa Mayoral in Valle de Guadalupe helpful, and hope it helps you as a starting point in planning your trip to the beautiful Mexican wine country.
